Lockdown 2 – Day #11

Sunday, just another day.
With some new restrictions coming.
A face mask is a must when you go outside your house from Thursday.

But the worst part is yet to come… we can’t leave the suburb… not even for shopping.
How are we supposed to get shopping if we can’t leave the suburb?!
I think I’m about to find out… had no choice so I ordered online.

I never had the time to watch TV, up until this pandemic started.
But now it became a habit.

I even enjoy it!
Every evening, after dinner, we sit together and watch something on TV or on Netflix.

It’s so nice to do something we never had the time to sit and relax, but now there’s no rush, we aren’t going anywhere… plenty of time to clean and cook during the day…

We watched The Voice 3 nights a week until last night. It was about the people, the songs, their progress, overall it was interesting.

Last night was The Grand Finale, it was fabulous but disappointing.
Three of the competitors were underprivileged, with a huge voice.

Guess who won?

The fourth one. The one who’s got the connections, the one who’s brother is a judge in that TV show, the one who already produced a new single.

Look, I’m not saying his voice wasn’t fantastic… but I was hoping that social justice will be done, so that an underprivileged person would actually win the lottery jackpot, money and contract with a record company.

But it wasn’t… such a shame.
The cleaner with the huge voice will still need to work hard as a cleaner, the male who got to sing Celine Dion and nailed it will still need to try harder, and the teen who’s written her own music will still need to deal with the fact that she doesn’t matter.

We were literally glued to the screen. The show was amazing.
But it ended up with such a disappointment, at least on my end…

I’m not sure it will happen again.

Lockdown 2 – Days #9-#10

This cold weekend was so nice and warm inside… but also too long.

Since Friday night we played a game, then another game, then another game… In the morning we played a game, then another game, then monopoly, which took us 3 hours…

Ate Lunch, read a book for a while… then played another game… then the kids nearly killed each other.

Then Shabbat was over and guess what? everyone were enjoying their devices.

Honestly, I think this weekend we finished playing all the games we’ve got at home. Never played so much in one weekend.

Well, clearly we thought it’s a short day so it will be fine. But, we didn’t have a new Lego or a new jigsaw puzzle… I suspect we might need to get something  by next weekend.

Lockdown 2 – Day #8

Last night we decided we want to have fun and laugh together, so we watched travel guides on channel 9.watched a few episodes…
We couldn’t stop.
For a moment we forgot the lockdown…we forgot we can’t travel…
We had the laughter of our lives.
And…we got a few more places to add to our bucket list.

I woke up to foggy weather, who wants to leave the house in such a cold & yucky weather…
Obviously I do.
That’s really what I want to do. NOT.
But, do I have a choice? Na…
I need to drop off a child at school,
As long as it’s still on.

Thursday is a boring day… it’s cooking day, then cleaning the mess. Then eating and everyone’s complaining… same old.

Can’t wait for the weekend!

Lockdown 2 – Day #7

After dropping off one child at school, I went to get my new cloths masks.
I ring the bell and she opened the door. A very nice lady, she welcomed me to come in. I walked inside into a dressmaker room, like old times’ sake.
With 2 mannequins with tops on them, lots of fabrics and material styles, a sewing machine, and even a divider if you need to change.

I didn’t know things like this still exist.

It threw me more than 20 years when I was a teenager, my mum took me to a dressmaker every now and then (well, you can’t tell these days… but once, I was very skinny so everything had to be adjusted)
This lady’s room looked the same.
It made me feel excited about the new masks if you can call it “excited”…

Well, nothing is exciting anymore.
Nobody needs new clothes, everyone wears pajamas, no one needs shoes, I prefer my ugg boots.
Who needs a bag? no one’s going anywhere, I thought while putting the masks inside the washing machine…

The only exciting things in our lives at the moment are getting dressed, shopping for food, memories of fun times (#Un4gettableAlbums)

Today, my highlights were another happy customer and the beautiful dressmakers’ new masks!

I think it’s much better…
What do you think?

Lockdown 2 – Day #6

Today was a Happy morning! Dropped one child at school.
Went to do some shopping on the way, first time I wore a mask.
Looks horrible, hard to look through with the glasses on.
For fun, yes, we are probably going to wear it for a while, so I better get a cloth mask, at least those look less threatening…

When you go out o – wear a mask.

This virus is taking over people’s lives.

Lockdown 2 – Day #5

Woke up early… without any particular reason.

I felt like I don’t need To do anything so no rush.
I came across a yummy dessert I used to eat when I was younger, the desire to try it was huge, so we did it..it called choco-pie ( it’s mady out of chocolate spread and tortia in egg and crumbs) … Reminded me of my childhood… it was so yummy.

Later on, I had to balance it with some Broccolini, so I don’t feel guilty about it 🙂
Then everyone went to play tennis and I was left in the quite…

Having my coffee in the sun (or what’s left of it)…
Then when the gang came back, we did some plastic recycling art that was so much fun (we used some recyclable containers that you can find in your fridge- like strawberry one’s or apples, we cut the edges drew on them with Sherpie and put in the oven for 30 seconds) Taaddammm! You get a keyring. I love it!

Yup, just another day…

Lockdown 2 – Day #4

What a productive day!

Woke up in the morning and finally finished the jigsaw puzzle.

Finished my first online course.

Went for a walk with a friend.

With the assistance of my kids, we organised the pantry.

Re-organised bathroom cupboard.

Wanted to feel the beach so we decided to make a Shelley art.

I decided to make a list of places I want to go after this pandemic is over.

OMG!

My list is getting so much longer…

Unfortunately we have a bit more time until we’ll be able to travel,at least I’ll be ready with my bucket list.

Lockdown 2 – Days #2-#3

On Friday I was exhausted from the long week and I had to rest.

So I delegated Shabbat meal making, which put the boys in the kitchen.

They made it! For the first time ever, I wasn’t standing in the kitchen at all (they got food preparing instructions of my daughter).

The food came out just perfect without me.
They got the credit for it.

Most of the next day was raining… we played our new Blokus game, which is just a brilliant and perfect game for the 4 of us to play together and each game is not very long, which is great.

Later on, socks matching game was very useful, we managed to find pairs to most of those lonely socks.

One empty basket with one very happy mum.

Lockdown 2 – Day #1

Thursday is always a surprising day…
Cleaning & Cooking day.

After standing most of the day to cook and clean, this lockdown, I decided, won’t be the same.

Each day I will do something for myself.
Something for me.

Even if it’s a small thing like going for a walk, Read a book or watch a movie.
Most days we take care of our family members first then we find the time for us.
We are the last to take care of ourselves.
Is that normaĺ? No.
It’s not good.
We need to take care of ourselves first, in order to have the energy to do that for others…

Most of us won’t be able to follow that statement.
Maybe it’s how we were built… full of guilt.
We are strong and tough. But we can’t take care of ourselves first.
Maybe we only get smarter when we get older.

Anyway, let’s start taking care of ourselves first.
For once, let us all be the first.
We can do it.
One step at a time.

I started today!

You can do it too.

Lockdown 2 – Day #0

Since tonight, a new lockdown is starting to take place and I had 24 hours to think about it…

After I hit it hard last time, I decided to use the time wisely this time. This lockdown can be a second chance to be more optimistic (yes, it’s possible…)

And to find my best self.

It’s not that I wasn’t good, but we can always improve. We all need to do that sometimes.

I came across a few people who made me do some good deeds today, which made me feel so good, so I know I’m on the right way.

Bring it on lockdown #2! (With pink mask, rainbow & unicorn)
